Leap to your life

There must be hidden nuances to this bright image of a young woman who is dancing with herself. Decide what they are and know they probably differ from the interpretation of others who see the same picture. This is the beauty of art.

For me this is not a particularly special day,  despite the date, 29 March. A leap day.’ If you add 2 plus 9=11. voila : It’s a master number in numerology. I notice or catch myself doing things that may interest the masses on such a day.

I remember many years ago when I met my husband we waited for the leap year to end and got engaged on the 1st of January. Superstitious? I guess so! We were not alone. There were a lot of engagement notices that day!

Here some numerology facts: Positive Characteristics: A Master number, the 11 is the most intuitive of all numbers. It is instinctual, charismatic, dynamic and capable when its sights are set on a concrete goal. The 11 is the number associated with faith and psychics.

Negative Characteristics: The 11 can be anxious, shy, stressed, conflicted and scattered. When focus is not applied toward a goal, the 11 can be extremely self-sabotaging. As a Master number, the positive characteristics will turn into obstacles when not understood or used properly.

Associated in Tarot with: Justice
Scattered and otherworldly may be shortcomings but you probably need to learn to handle the bad with the good. A  Psychic gift is for special people.
The word leap in today’s prompt reminded me of another image which won an award when I was a teenager. It was a full frontal picture of a man doing the long jump taken by a boy who was in my class. Truly magnificent and memorable. Worth a thousand words, to quote a Chinese saying!
That same boy waved hurray when the O Level English exam paper was handed to us and  “My first camera” was a possible prompt/ composition option. We both got an A!
For an interesting article written by a leap person

Small talks

Counting Voices

It’s pub night so the house is people free and its noises are overrun with the pleasant buzz of my own thoughts.

As a confirmed loner with an inner circle of precious few people I like, however, on occasion, to be in small groups of people, as well…..

Luckily, I have inherited a posh hand-made oak table that sits 8 people but can be extended to accommodate up to another four guests. This is an optimal range of guests in my house in the suburbs as I believe in catering for group dynamics.

Then there is the odd number versus even number to consider, for hosts who are superstitious. My friend Kristia avoids inviting two friends of her daughter to the house simultaneously. She thinks a couple converses better than a trio of little people. She is probably right. Two people can invent a poetry of small talks and bond over Call of duty or simulated tea  and biscuits role playing.

Two is the magic mystery number then esp if you are romantic.Yes, I am the last of the great romantics who needs company for small talks…..

Caffeine benefits

Sometime ago I read that caffeine and nicotine in the plant are there to discourage insects.

We know them as anti-oxidants ie anti-cancer substances. Personally I find caffeine makes me jittery a couple of hrs after drinking coffee. As you may know itee0ee607c1867a1f0b9db375b769e2b8

has more caffeine than tea! Studies, correlate coffee consumption with a reduction of certain cancers including breast cancer.

Look at this link. Coffee consumption and caffeine also increase the effectiveness of tamoxifen, the standard drug for breast cancer..

Ditto for the sleep hormone melatonin. Take it occasionally in pill form and also try to have quality sleep!

Today’s post was inspired by the following article:

Coffee, Caffeine, and Cancer: What the Research Reveals

I want to also tell you that ages ago I came across an experiment in which mice were given coffee and made to walk on a treadmill and their skin tumors shrunk! Conclusion:

change both yr diet and lifestyle and look into anti-oxidants!

Writing Voices for all

Writing Voices for allVoice Work

” I write only because there is a voice within me that will not be still ”  Sylvia Plath

February 3! What a creative day! I know for a fact that 3 is the most creative number in numerology…(more on my other blog)….

Who will play me when I am famous? Scorpio Julia, fiery Penelope of Woman on Top fame or a Greek prima donna in the Melina  ‘Never on a Sunday” fame and  tradition? It will have to me I am afraid. Playing myself and reciting my masterpieces like those titled British natural world specialists we see in those surprisingly riveting documentaries!

I will have you know that March 9 natives have unusual voices that sound good and strong on the radio. The right timbre with a slight but sexy Greek Cypriot accent! The best ever Greek actor, in fact,  was the legendary Demetris Horn who shared the March 9 birthday with me. He had a voice to die for. Unfortunately he is no longer with us so I have to do the CDs and DVDs myself. Saves me money as well!

Some people I know, including myself, are happiest when they are writing…..

Not surprisingly,  with a bit of practice, their voice is often unique and authentic. Natural vibes flow from the page eloquently meandering past hurdles as easily as  a three Wheeler in the time of the cholera.

i pause feeling rather pleased with my metaphor (or is it a simile?) like Sylvia Plath on a good day in the Bell Jar.

But as we know, quoting a Woody? quote, success is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration.
